The makers of the upcoming film, I Want to Talk, dropped a new 25-second promo that offers a glimpse into the heart of the film’s emotional narrative. Featuring Abhishek Bachchan and social media star Ahilya Bamroo, the clip gives audiences a peek into the complex dynamics of a father-daughter relationship.
In the promo, Ahilya, who plays Abhishek’s daughter in the film, asks her father an innocent yet thought-provoking question, “What do you know about marriage, Dad? Batao (tell me).” The tone of the conversation suggests that Ahilya’s character is eager to explore her father’s perspective on marriage and relationships. She even insists on calling him by his character name, Arjun Singh, to get a direct response. However, Abhishek’s character remains silent, leaving the question unanswered.
This brief but powerful exchange highlights the underlying theme of Shoojit Sircar’s I Want to Talk, which delves deep into the complexities of family bonds and generational divides. The promo hints at an emotional journey where communication, or the lack thereof, plays a central role in shaping the father-daughter relationship. Abhishek Bachchan’s silent response adds a layer of mystery, suggesting there is much more to Arjun Singh’s character than what meets the eye.
Sharing the video on their social media handle, the makers wrote, “And sometimes, silence speaks louder than words. Living the little moments of #IWantToTalk In cinemas 22nd November (sic).”
Ahilya Bamroo, a popular social media personality, will make her big screen debut with this film. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, and produced by Ronni Lahiri and Shoojit under the banner of Rising Sun Films and Kino Works, I Want to Talk will be released in theatres on November 22.
